It has been 9 months since the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, took office in January 2017. While opinions are very divided between those who support President Trump and those who do not, on Oakland University's campus it can be hard to tell where student opinions lay. Oakland University journalism students have been tasked with collecting student's opinions on President Trump and his performance so far. The Oakland Post, Oakland University's independent student newspaper, reported that 300 participants have contributed since mid-September. Students Anna Robb, Daniel Ashcraft and Starr Brown set out to see if there is a relationship of student opinion to those who live on campus to those who commute to campus. Each student polled was asked this series of questions: - Name - Class Standing: - Do you live on campus or commute? - Where are you from? - As of today, do you approve or disapprove of Donald Trump's performance? - On Inauguration Day, did you approve or disapprove of Donald Trump's performance? - Has your opinion changed and why? If your opinion has not changed, why?

Student opinion from the data collected has been analyzed into an interactive map.

Looking at the map blue represents students who disapproved of President Trump when he was first elected into office and continue to disapprove of him today. Red represents students who approved of President Trump when he was first elected into office and continue to approve of him today. Yellow represents students whose opinion of approval or disapproval has changed from the time President Trump was first elected into office to today.

Out of the 31 students who participated in the survey 12.9% continue to support President Trump, 80.6% of students continue to disapprove of President Trump, and 6.5% of student had opinions that have changed regarding their approval/disapproval of President Trump.

Based off of the data gathered Students Anna Robb, Daniel Ashcraft and Starr Brown have concluded that there is a no relationship of student opinion to those who live on campus to those who commute to campus.
